Beat University is a non-profit partnership between San Francisco institutions LoveEvolution (formerly LoveFest) and Pyramind to raise money for the only dedicated electronic music scholarship fund in the country. Featuring top-notch local and international talent, this quarterly series of dance events donates its proceeds to help up-and-coming electronic musicians pay for their advanced digital audio education at Pyramind. This makes Beat University a one-of-a-kind program that showcases not only today’s best, but also contributes to creating the outstanding electronic musicians of tomorrow.

To further encourage this, specific performance slots at Beat Unversity are dedicated entirely to artists from Pyramind, giving our students a unique opportunity for growth and visibility in the highly-competitive nightlife industry. This also gives students the opportunity to hear their tracks played on a live club system, so they can understand how their music will sound and feel to a real dance club audience. And finally, potential students can come to Beat University to experience the breadth and depth of talent in the Pyramind community, perhaps deciding to enroll in Pyramind themselves.

To compliment the local talent, Beat University also features top established artists from San Francisco and beyond. These successful DJs and performers are on hand to share their experiences and music, and hopefully inspire the next generation of producers to achieve a higher level in their own artistry.

The Beat University Scholarship Fund is managed by the non-profit dance festival LoveEvolution, which attracts more than 80,000 revelers a year to the main streets of San Francisco for a weekend of high-powered, high-energy music. LoveEvolution is also an official sponsor of Beat University, contributing to the promotion and production of the events. Finally, all of the performers at Beat University donate their time and energy so that Beat University can maximize the amount of fundraising possible at each event.

Thus far, Beat University has generated major support from major Bay Area DJ's, including:

• DJ Skwint, DMC scratch finalist
• Liam Shy, SF trance wunderkind
• Pance Party, up-and-coming SF electro stars

These names showcase the wide variety of styles that can be featured at every event, ensuring audiences of all sorts can come and enjoy today’s best electronic music, while contribute to the growth of the scene tomorrow, as well.
