Guest Lecture Series
BZ Lewis

BZ Lewis May 14th 2008
As part of it's ongoing lecture series, Pyramind adds another gem to its crown with the excellent presentation by independent studio owner and engineer B.Z. Lewis. Introduced by a former intern and current student of the school, B.Z. brought fresh, real world perspective of what it means to work in the pro audio industry. With sharp wit, vast tech knowledge, and a unique insight into situations that call for on the spot improvisation, B.Z. relayed his history and path to success.
From humble beginnings helping with his father's radio program, to the crazy road adventure of making a movie from scratch with his boyhood friends, to the venture into owning and running a full-on professional recording studio, B.Z. really conveyed the smarts, guts and ear it takes to be on top in this business. He particularly emphasized versatility.

Working with numerous kinds of genre performers (often in the same week) B.Z. is at home producing anything from hip-hop to jazz to rock to a tv commercial jingle. And he does it well. If anything the main message was "Be versatile, be excellent, be consistent." A true pleasure of a lecture that gave needed outside world experience to the aspiring Pyramind student. Top marks!
