Get Connected Summit & Beyond!

Well, I’m just about recovered from the craziest week ever! October hit with a bang and hasn’t stopped rolling yet! November 2nd marked the first year of The Get Connected Summit. It also marked the return of the AES conference to Moscone Center, another Test Press event, The Love Fest and a VIP party for The Recording Academy/AES/and SPARS hosted at Pyramind’s 832 Folsom St. facilities…all in three days!
The Get Connected Summit was a strong showing, especially for being a first time event of it’s kind! It was an amazing turn-out of community support and by this I mean industry and geographically wide as people came from all over. I’m sure this was in no small part a direct result of the summit coinciding with both Love Fest and the AES show.

The majority of the production team was made of Pyramind Staff and student volunteers all of whom rose up to the occasion to make for a very smooth running two day Summit. Production management was handled by Steffen Franz and assisted by Pyramind Studio manager Michael Roache who spent most of his time during the event days running front of house mix on the Digidesign Venue, Profile console for all the live performances and several main stage exhibitor presentations.
I’m very pleased to report that we have lots of video footage of all the panels, Tips & Tricks studio sessions, the performances and even the Test Press Events. They are being edited and uploaded as I type and soon will be available for viewing in full on both www.getconnectedsummit.com and www.Pyramind.com. On that note Pyramind will be starting a Youtube Channel for all of our Guest Lecture presentations as well as other events and happenings here. Our video department is starting to take form and I am hopeful that as we bring on more marketing assistance for the web team (headed by Steve Heithecker) we will be able to make faster updates and and do more video posting as well!

The year is coming to a close rapidly but not before we host several more very cool events. For all you Game Audio Heads we had a great event Saturday October 13th when Harmonix, makers of Rock Band 2 came through with Grammy U and the Recording Academy. Coming up is another very cool Game Audio event with Audiokinetic. This is an advanced seminar giving us all a chance to have a close look at Wwise, the only complete audio pipeline solution for Game development, and to hear what current users have to say about it. We will also have the opportunity to take part in the first public demonstration of a brand new and revolutionary product, currently being developed by Audiokinetic.
A networking cocktail will follow the event where you can socialize and exchange ideas with your peers and the Audiokinetic team.

The event is being produced in association with the Game Audio Network Guild and the Interactive Entertainment Sound Developers branch.  The San Francisco date will be hosted at Pyramind, Inc.
