FAQs
Q- How is Pyramind different from traditional audio engineering Schools?
A-
Pyramind is a sound production and training facility. This means that our training is centered around production, not just audio engineering. While audio engineering is a key component of production, Pyramind covers all aspects of production - from concept to creation and post-production to marketing. Our training centers on all three key areas of the production process - creativity, technology and business. Most Audio schools only focus on one - technology.
Q- Can I produce my own music at Pyramind?
A- Of course, we encourage it!
Q- Can you help me get a record deal?
A- While we can't guarantee it, we will provide you with the resources and contacts that could make that happen.
Q- How long will I be in school?
A- This depends on you. The Core is designed to run for eight months, but if a student fails or needs to re-take a class before matriculating, then a program can last 12 months or longer. We are dedicated to your success, and we allow students to re-take individual classes and complete class-tracks until the course requirements are satisfied. Additionally, the Advanced Certifications (normally 4 months after The Core) are often repeated in part due to the depth of the material. These repeats are free for Core and Advanced Certificate students. Individual Certificate students can repeat classes for 1/3rd the regular price. For details, talk to our student services coordinator.
Q- What other benefits do I get with The Core education?
A- Students benefit from our industry relationships in the community from day one. We are educational dealers for many manufacturers (we give access to EDU pricing directly through other manufacturers that we can’t get ourselves) and we also provide free support and consulting to all our students (normally $100/hour) during their tenure as students. Core students are also given 1-year memberships to The Academy Of Recording Arts And Sciences while DSP-C students also join The Game Audio Network Guild.
Q- What sort of industry relationships can Pyramind provide?
A- Each month, we introduce you to a different successful artist, producer, record label executive or cutting edge technology expert through our "Planning For Success" guest lecture series.
Q- How does Pyramind prioritize its applications?
• Highest priority is given to the best applicants based on their enrollment application, interview and demo reel.
• Student applications are reviewed on a first-come, first served basis.
• Students requiring re-location will get high priority since time is essential for them to make travel arrangements.
• International students must apply and be accepted NO EARLIER than 120 days before the desired enrollment cycle as all student Visa documentation must be in order prior to acceptance.
