Maneesh the Twister has been involved in music and djing for over 14 years and is a co-founder of Dhamaal. He first started as an on-air radio dj in Austin and at KUSF in SF. He co-founded an indie space- rock/electronic night called Spacecake; and in addition to his indie side, Maneesh has quite varied tastes and spins Dub, breakbeat, drumnbass, dancehall, hip hop, & bhangra. Being heavily influenced by dub reggae, he is also a resident of the longest running weekly dub & roots night in the US, Dub Mission. Maneesh has shared the stage with Adrian Sherwood (On-U sound), Badmarsh & Shri, State of Bengal, Karsh Kale, MIDIval PunditZ, Dum Dum Project, Cheb I Sabbah, Nickodemus, J Boogie, Solomonic Sound (Rob Paine), & the legendary Jamaican producer, Scientist. He's dj'd all over SF, as well as in NY, LA, Philly, NC, TX, FL, and internationally in Hong Kong, Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, Goa and Bangkok! In addition to Maneesh's eclectic taste in music, he is also a connoisseur of palak paneer, well-brewed chai, and all flavors spacey. "I came upon Pyramind while at the Gilbert Street studios and completed my ProTools 101 certification. Soon thereafter we began producing our own tracks and when we were ready to finalize the mix, Pyramind was the natural choice. It was great to come into the studio and work side by side with Greg and Matt to sculpt the sound we desired but were not quite sure how to achieve. Currently I am continuing the Digital Producer Certification program focusing on Pro Tools and Logic Audio certification. In addition to producing my own music and working on remixes, I hope to be able to broaden my skill set by working in more sound for picture mediums upon completion of the program this summer." --Maneesh |
