WYLIE LINQUIST

Wylie Linquist graduated with a degree in Geography from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1996. He chose to become a professional jeweler. The jewelry trade allowed him to move to the Bay Area in 1999 to pursue his love of music. With the challenge of a work injury and through vocational rehabilitation, Wylie decided to begin a new career in music engineering.

He applied to Pyramind because of their audio post production focus, and is currently enrolled in the Pyramind Digital Producers Certificate, which includes training in audio engineering (Pro Tools certification), sound for picture editing (with Dave Nelson at Outpost Studios), music composition and the business of music. Due to his exceptional performance in the level 100 classes Wylie was asked to become a teaching assistant for the Protools 101, Synthesis & Sampling and Reason classes.

"What a great place to meet people who are like-minded and share similar goals. There's a lot of creation happening here besides education, that's really what makes Pyramind so exciting!" Wylie enjoys both the artistic and technical sides of musical collaboration. "Harmony's where it's at! Whether it's the harmony of song or the harmony of working with others, the synthesis of creativity and technology here at Pyramind is outstanding. Greg, Matt, Deks, everyone here is encouraging, and willing to share their unique knowledge and their time...that's really priceless. I am grateful to kick off my new career here at Pyramind."

Wylie is a vocalist, a lyricist and songwriter and plays keyboard and djembe. He enjoys classical, electronic (dance, house, etc) and gospel music. He currently sings tenor at St. Jarlath Church, and in 2000, he sang in multiple performances of Handel's Messiah.
