Greg J. Gordon

Greg is a San Francisco native and the CEO and founder of Pyramind. He has over twenty years experience working with major recording artists, AAA developers, publishers, and high-profile brands in the interactive entertainment industry. After ten years of running his own project studio, Greg was asked to develop and teach the digital audio curriculum at SF State University’s multi media studies program. Greg then partnered with Matt Donner to expand Pyramind Studios by creating a music and audio production school, Pyramind Training.

Matt Donner

Matt Donner cut his Producer and Engineering chops in NYC while earning his Masters degree. He found himself working for high-profile studios like Sound on Sound (Diddy, Anita Baker) and Greene Street (Run DMC and Public Enemy). He went on to various TV studios and John Cale (Velvet Underground) that included 3 feature film scores using Pro Tools version 1.0 and a two-day live event to open the Andy Warhol Museum. After signing his band to an indy record deal, his cross-country tour brought him to SF where the drummer exploded – how typical.

Bryan Dale

A practicing musician for over 20 years, Bryan’s main instruments are electric and acoustic guitar and electric bass. While obtaining his Bachelor’s degree in Advertising & Public Relations at Pennsylvania State University, Bryan played in local bands, organized open mic nights and continued taking and teaching private lessons.His first professional studio experience came working outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in a local independent studio tracking local bands and burning as many hours in the studio as humanly possible.

Jeff Straw

Jeff (aka DJ F) is a music industry veteran with over 25 years of experience as a DJ, saxophonist, producer and re-mixer. Prior to joining Pyramind, Jeff served as Music Supervisor and Marketing Director at Focus@Will. He was the Sr. Director of Product Development & Music Licensing at INgrooves for nearly a decade and prior to that he was the vinyl and dance music buyer for Virgin Megastore. Jeff is an expert on music publishing and has taught several music business courses for Berklee Online. Jeff earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Miami in Music Engineering.

 

Hideki Yamashita


IT Director

Hideki "Deks" Yamashita oversees all IT and Facilities Operations at Pyramind. His goal is to enrich the client experience by providing a trouble free and seamless user experience both in and out of the studios that caters to our creative team’s need to excel in project and asset management, and secure data work flow. Deks is an avid gamer and an expert Taiko performer with ten years with the San Francisco Taiko Dojo. The melding of his passion for technology and music has brought him to an industry in which he thrives.

Steve Heithecker


Mixer

Steve brings his years of experience as a recording and mix engineer to the Pyramind team. He is a certified Pro Tools expert operator and is always pushing the limits of what technology has to offer. Steve’s credits include recording the Grammy Award winning and world’s top male acapella chorus, Chanticleer, for the score of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary.

Andrew Scanlan


Online Education Manager

Andrew is a guitarist and electronic music producer with as much passion for music technology as he has for music itself. He studied music composition at Santa Clara University before attending Pyramind for his post-graduate education. Andrew's previous experience as a photographer and online site administrator helped lead to his transition from Pyramind student to employee. In 2012 he was instrumental in launching Pyramind Training’s first online courses. Since then he has helped grow the size and scope of the online course offerings and now works with the Studios team in client relations and business development.

Daniel Blum

Daniel Blum began playing music at the age of three as a cellist; since then he has learned to play the gamut of instruments: piano, violin, trumpet, french horn, guitar, bass, and ultimately percussion and drum set. Earning his Bachelor’s in Music from California State University Northridge in Percussion Performance, Daniel worked in Los Angeles and abroad as a freelance percussionist and drum set player performing with the Debut Orchestra, the American Youth Symphony, the Chamber Orchestra of the South Bay, the Santa Barbara Symphony, Suicide Cowboy, Culture Crash Orquestra, umbrellaMAN, and Tumbleweed Wanderers. He’s also recorded at a varied wealth of studios including Capitol Records, Conway Studios, the Eastwood Sound Stage, Skywalker Sound, Broken Radio Studios, Tiny Telephone, Hyde Street Studios, New Improved Recording, Panoramic Studios, and many more.

Alan moved to San Francisco in 1986 where he began working for United Airlines which enabled him to do travel which he loves to this day. Alan eventually left the travel business and obtained his MBA from Golden Gate University in 2000. He then began working in bookkeeping and opened Apex Bookkeeping. He joined the team at Pyramind in 2011 handling the Bookkeeping and Human Resource functions.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Steve has had a passion for music since he got his first guitar at the age of 10. After spending his formative years honing his guitar skills, Steve later added drums and keyboard to his instrmental arsenal. After graduating from UC Berkeley with a degree in Philosophy, he took his guitar and backpacked through Europe. After spending time abroad as a street musician with local artists, he returned to the US with an even stronger love of music. Over the next few years, Steve worked on original songs and collaborated with other musicians in all aspects of music creation, recording and production. In 2013 Steve decided it was time to get a professional music education and enrolled with Pyramind Training. Steve found the program and staff to be outstanding and immediately volunteered to be part of the Pyramind Facilities Assistant Program. He has since moved through the ranks to obtain the staff position he now holds. Steve looks forward to a long career in the music industry and works hard to ensure that every day is a new learning experience.

Ophylia’s background includes working for Apple as a retail specialist, running her own alternative healing therapy business, and completing her Bachelors in Critical Psychology. As a recent graduate of Pyramind’s Core intensive audio production curriculum, and Interactive DSP, Ophylia has proven her commitment to direct her career toward game audio. She now applies the organizational, IT, and interpersonal skills she learned in her previous occupations, and her experience as a Pyramind student, to keep Pyramind Studios running smoothly and efficiently by night, and assists in the Production Department by day.
