Pro Tools Tips & Tricks | Pitch Shifting In Melodyne for Transition Risers

  |  Jeff Straw  |

Are you looking for a new way to create transitions in your EDM productions?  Tired of the same old filtered white noise sweep?  In this take on the classic 'build a riser sound', Paul uses a single note and Melodyne to create a very smooth pitch shift in Pro Tools. Simple, but effective.

Paul has worked with a wide array of artists including Chickenfoot (Michael Anthony, Chad Smith, and Joe Satriani), Keith Urban, Alice Russell, Tony Lindsay of Santana, Pomplamoose, actor Robin Williams, The Muppets, actor Peter Krause of Six Feet Under, and solo-engineered the new Tender Mercies album, a side-project of the Counting Crows. Now working in-house Production at Pyramind, ongoing clients include Microsoft and Samsung as well as multiple gaming and ADR projects. Recent feature film credits include: Muppets Most Wanted, The Singularity is Near, The Scene, and The Big Wedding.
