Impact Sound Design Sample Pack Giveaway | Office Space Parody

We recently updated the keyboards in our classrooms, replacing all of our M-Audio Axiom 49s with Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol s49s. We sold the old keyboards, but were left with a few that were broken and unsalvageable. This presented us with a unique recording opportunity, as well as a reason to recreate the famous “printer scene” from Office Space!

We decided to smash these keyboards to pieces and capture the resulting sounds to add them to this cool sound design sample pack that you can download. We give you 230 distinct sounds each recorded with 4 different microphones to provide you with subtle nuances and differences and almost 1,000 sounds. We used multiple microphones from our collection to ensure a dynamic sound - including a Sennheiser MKH 416, Shure SM7B, Neumann U87, and a pair of Shure SM81s. The sample pack is categorized into clicks, crunches, shuffles, and smashes (along with a few power tools for good measure) from the session. They are all organized by microphone and ready to be used in your own sound design and music production projects!

While we were at it, we also smashed a TV, an office phone, and a printer…
