Planning for Success 201

Planning For Success 201 explores and elaborates on the many niches of the music and sound industries and how technology has been a constant factor in the rise and fall of the production, sale and distribution of recorded music. Students are required to match their passions with their core competencies, define their weaknesses and shine a light on their perceived barriers to personal success. In a world where good is no longer “good enough” PFS 201 takes a look at the various components that incubate greatness.

This class is designed to help focus employment objectives and to make the most out of the intense learning and growing experience that is Pyramind by laying the groundwork necessary to generate the confidence and assets needed post graduation to find work in the music and sound industries. Key components of both the PFS 201 and 210 classes are the special guest lectures designed to enhance the learning experience with unique perspectives on success and relationship building opportunities from the front lines of the industry.

Planning for Success 210

This class explores the concept of value and the importance of building brand awareness as it relates to your personal objectives and expertise as a music producer, engineer, recording artist, composer, sound designer and budding entrepreneur. Social media engagement is analyzed to help determine how and to whom you will sell your services and products and how to best engage yourself with the market place. Particular focus is paid to the skill sets required for entrepreneurship and business development and how they apply to today’s recording artist and producer. Students brainstorm and discuss ways to skillfully market themselves to fit their product or service. Guest lectures present specific examples of success and the class analyzes what makes those examples successful.

Students are engaged in group discussions about their personal road blocks, how to over come them and the process of encouraging innovative thinking and developing a unique marketable identity.The overall goal of PFS 210 is to provide a foundational platform to launch your personal brand and to learn the necessary skill sets to develop and maintain a successful creative career.
