Ambient music is known for lush textures, slow tonal changes and mood-setting atmospheres. Seemingly easy to make, it may be one of the most challenging of all genres to master. There is always something to be learned from the masters -- in this case, producers like Brian Eno, Aphex Twin and Bill Laswell.
Spin-off genres, such as Ambient House, Ambient Dub, and Dark Ambient opened the door for more electronic and industrial genres to infuse ambient textures.
